Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Digital Asset Management (DAM) Specialist with expertise in Iconik and a passion for organizing and optimizing digital content. We're seeking an experienced Digital Asset Management (DAM) Specialist with hands-on expertise in Iconik to support digital asset organization, workflow automation, and metadata strategy for a new client. This is a dedicated, client-focused contract role, you'll work closely with a single organization's team to optimize their iconik environment. Responsibilities Configure, administer, and optimize the client's Iconik DAM environment, including collections, metadata views, and storage integrations Manage and troubleshoot the client's Backblaze B2 storage integration with iconik, including bucket configuration, storage tiers, and connectivity / performance issues Design and implement metadata schemas, taxonomies, and tagging structures to improve asset discoverability Build and maintain automation workflows using iconik's rules engine, ACLs, and integrations (e.g., with editing platforms or AI-based tagging tools) Manage ingest, transcoding, and proxy workflows for video, audio, and image assets Troubleshoot storage connections (Backblaze B2, S3-compatible endpoints, on-prem NAS, etc.) and permissions / user access issues Serve as the one of the primary DAM points of contact for the client, collaborating directly with their creative and marketing teams to gather requirements and translate them into iconik configurations Support data migration from legacy DAM systems or file structures into iconik. Including experience resolving incomplete JSON mappings when importing metadata into iconik, including manual reconciliation and schema troubleshooting Document workflows, best practices, and standard operating procedures tailored to the client's needs Provide training/guidance to the client's end users on iconik functionality as needed Qualifications . 2+ years of hands-on experience with iconik specifically (required) Experience with Backblaze B2 or similar S3-compatible cloud storage platforms (required) Strong understanding of digital asset management principles, metadata standards, and media workflows Familiarity with video/audio codecs, proxy generation, and transcoding workflows Experience with Iconik's API, webhooks, or custom integrations is a strong plus Knowledge of metadata schemas (e.g., IPTC, Dublin Core) and controlled vocabularies Prior experience in media, broadcast, marketing, or creative production environments Comfortable working as an embedded/dedicated resource for a single client, with strong client-facing communication skills Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and be responsive to one primary stakeholder group Experience migrating storage from AWS S3 or other providers to Backblaze B2 Experience with other DAM platforms (Bynder, Adobe AEM Assets, Aprimo, etc.) for migration comparisons Scripting experience (Python, JavaScript) for automation or API integrations Join us as a Digital Asset Management Specialist to drive innovation in content organization! Pay:
