CITY OF CREVE COEUR JOB POSTING TEMPORARY PART TIME ARCHIVIST

$17.85/Hour Total Hours for
Position :
Generally during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. Temporary assignment is for approximately 12 weeks, not to exceed 480 hours. The City of Creve Coeur is looking for a Temporary Part-Time Archivist to assist with reviewing, organizing, and scheduling local government documents for destruction in accordance with Missouri State Statutes Chapter 109 (Public and Business Records). This position is ideal for someone interested in records management, archival work, or local government operations, and requires strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and classify documents according to retention schedules. Assist in preparing records for destruction in compliance with Missouri State Archives and legal requirements. Maintain an organized filing system and ensure accurate documentation of records management activities. Collaborate with city staff to identify records that require retention or destruction. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience with records management, archives, or administrative work preferred. Familiarity with basic office technology. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. The ability to read, comprehend, and write clearly is essential for handling documents, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. The candidate must possess the manual dexterity to write and type on a computer keyboard. Must possess the ability to bend, kneel, and occasionally lift materials, such as documents and files. Due to the nature of some archived materials, the position may involve handling documents stored in environments that may be dusty or dirty. Business casual attire is required.
