JOB SUMMARY
Basic clerical work such as, photocopying, typing, running errands, mailings as well as more complex tasks involved with the organization and facilitation of major Seminary events. The job also involves editing and research, particularly related to handbooks and Seminary web-page. The work study may represent the Seminary at various open houses and special events, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Associate Deans/Academic Work-Study supports the Seminary's Academic offices. This work-study student works closely with the Associate Deans (Rev. Christopher Ciccarino and Dr. Dianne Traflet), the Academic Resource Specialist (Andrew Brenycz), the Coordinator of Graduate & International Services (Diane Carr), the Institutional Research Coordinator (Eilish Harrington) and the Secretary for Support Services (Elizabeth Vacchiano). This student will work a minimum of two hour blocks of time weekdays between 8:30am and 4:30pm. He is responsible for basic clerical work such as photocopying, typing, running errands, and mailings as well as more complex tasks and assistance. The student will work on special projects, including editing and research, relating to the academic offices of ICSST. At the beginning of each semester the Associate Deans/Academic Work-Study will, with the approval of the Associate Dean and Academic Resource Coordinator, submit a work schedule. It is imperative that this schedule be met, so the work-study student is encouraged to consider the demands of mid-term exams, final exams and research papers prior to committing to a schedule. Once his shift begins, he must enter his start time on Student Employee Timesheet site. Then he should check with the Academic Resource Coordinator for the day's priorities. If there is no pressing matter, the work-study student may prioritize the contents of his "inbox" on his own and begin working. At the end of his shift, he must complete his Student Employee Timesheet ; he should enter the time he finished his work The work-study student will, along with a Seminary employee, represent the Seminary at one Graduate Open House per semester and at various lectures (generally two per semester) in the Seminary Chapel. For these events, his responsibilities include: Mailing announcements Preparing Reserved Seating List (for lectures) Preparing lecture mailing sign up (give to the Coordinator of Graduate & International Services after event) Setting up an information table Preparing and ensuring placement of Reserved Seating Signs (for lectures) Greeting guests and providing information 5. The work-study student may work the lectures and open houses to count toward his weekly hours or for extra pay for that week.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Good communication skills, ability to work with others, a knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel (Publisher a plus), and copy machine knowledge; must be reliable.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
