Declassification Analyst
Job Description
Conduct initial declassification reviews in support of a government agency. Analyze unclassified and classified documents to determine the appropriate action needed in accordance with
E.O. 13526.
Demonstrate understanding of document markings. Utilize analytical skills to make determinations on documents for release, referral to other agencies, and exemption from automatic declassification. Recognize possible nuclear weapons and intelligence information. Properly handle boxes and documents (boxes can weigh between 15-25 lbs.) and ensure the integrity of each box remains intact. Perform reviews and evaluations of records using the declassification review process, classification guides, personal recognition of other agency equities, proper application of dispositions to reviewed documents, and mastery of the data management system. Have experience working on classified projects and be proficient in safeguarding, maintaining, and properly handling classified records. Be willing to interact with government employees and provide feedback and instruction to other employees.
Job Requirements:
At least two (2) years of military experience; or At least two (2) years of experience in a specialized field, including the performance of functions related to Army records management, declassification, FOIA, or privacy; or A bachelor's or postgraduate degree from an accredited college or university. At a minimum, be knowledgeable of records management and/or declassification requirements. The salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000.
