Job Description

502429 Savannah, Georgia, United States Photography Academics Full-time Faculty As a professor, you will join a faculty of accomplished photographers and image-makers whose decades of professional experience span commercial, fine art, and documentary photography. Together, this team leads a program that prepares students for careers as commercial photographers, creative directors, videographers, photo editors, post-production artists, documentary photographers, and contemporary artists. Program graduates produce work for leading brands and publications, publish books and magazines, and exhibit in museums and galleries around the world. In this role, you will provide high-quality educational opportunities in a professional environment where knowledge, creativity, discipline, and character are developed. You will direct your focus to priority areas which include fashion, advertising, and commercial photography; studio lighting; post-production; videography; social media strategies; and business practices. Responsibilities include the instruction of both undergraduate and graduate courses on-ground at SCAD Savannah and online through SCADnow and the development of new curriculum and course content as the field evolves. You will teach classes in accordance with your employment agreement and may be required to participate in faculty councils or other extracurricular events. In this position, you may be able to teach abroad at SCAD Lacoste, the university's location in the south of France. You will also have the opportunity to propose off-site travel excursions to a variety of global destinations through SCAD study abroad. Among other duties, you will attend on-ground events, including those sponsored by the admission department, institutional effectiveness, institutional advancement, or other publicity assignments. Teaching activities, other assigned duties, and the professor's personal conduct will support the university's educational mission, policies, and philosophy. The ideal candidate has demonstrated professional or teaching experience across the listed priority areas. They can pursue collaborative projects across SCAD's wide and evolving range of disciplines to keep the program at the forefront of an ever-changing creative industry.
Minimum qualifications:
Terminal degree in photography or a relevant discipline Academic and professional credentials to teach in photography Two years of work experience in a related profession OR post-secondary teaching experience
Certificates/licenses:
