Position Summary:

Valley City State University invites applications for part-time, non-benefitted instructors to teach courses within the Department of Music. The role involves teaching music courses in online and/or face-to-face environments, with a focus on delivering high-quality instruction and fostering a positive learning environment. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about music education and dedicated to student success as musicians and educators.

Responsibilities:

Faculty in this role have the responsibility to: Teach undergraduate music courses based on departmental needs and faculty area(s) of expertise. Develop and deliver course materials that align with program objectives and learning outcomes. Utilize appropriate teaching methods and technologies to engage a diverse student population. Assess and evaluate student performance, providing timely feedback and support to foster academic growth. Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit grades in accordance with institutional deadlines and applicable state and federal guidelines. Participate in departmental initiatives such as recruiting, curriculum development, etc. as relevant and appropriate. Stay current with developments in the field of music and integrate new knowledge into teaching. Minimum Qualifications A master's degree in Music, or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Music from an accredited institution of higher education.
