Purpose:
The Division of Music is looking to hire a dynamic, experienced, and student-focused individual to serve as Adjunct for Guitar. We are seeking qualified candidates to teach private Guitar lessons, with opportunities to teach Music, Fine Arts, or Guitar classes based on degrees and experience.
Essential Functions:
Provide private lessons or classes in content specialty to both students pursuing a degree in music, those pursuing a minor in music, as well as students taking lessons or classes as an elective or secondary performance area. Other instruments may be needed.
Other Duties:
May have opportunity to teach other classes in content area.
Qualifications:
Ability to teach private lessons in content area. Ability to travel to OBU. Commitment to the vision and mission of Oklahoma Baptist University.
Education:
Required:
Completed Master's degree. •
Preferred:
Doctorate in Music Arts in instrument.
Experience:
Required:
Teaching experience in appropriate content area. •
Preferred:
Successful teaching as a music faculty member at an accredited undergraduate institution and significant experience as a performer.
Special Requirements:
Must be a member of a local evangelical• Christian church. •Evangelical is a broad term referring to segment within Christianity which maintains the authority of the Bible and the belief in salvation by faith in Jesus alone.
