An Art Professor teaches foundational art ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the art curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.
Master's degree in Art, Art History, Fine Arts, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
PREFERRED
MFA (Master of Fine Arts) or Ph. D. in a relevant field. College-level teaching experience is strongly preferred. Experience teaching in online or hybrid formats is a plus.

SUMMARY:
The Adjunct Professor of Art will teach one or more undergraduate courses in the Visual Arts, including but not limited to Studio Art, Art Appreciation, or Art History. Instruction may be lecture-based, studio-based, or a combination of both. Most Art History and Art Appreciation courses are offered online, while Studio Art courses are taught on campus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student learning and engagement across multiple formats. Qualifications (Required and Preferred) Master's degree in Art, Art History, Fine Arts, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

Assess student performance and provide timely and constructive feedback. Maintain appropriate records and submit grades in a timely manner. Create and maintain a learning environment that supports student participation and success. Participate in course planning, curriculum development, and departmental meetings as needed. Follow institutional policies and maintain professional conduct.

PHYSICAL EFFORT
This position may require standing for extended periods, operating standard art tools or studio equipment, and occasionally lifting and moving supplies or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily in classroom, studio, or online environments. Studio instruction may involve exposure to paints, solvents, and other art materials.
