We are seeking a skilled and passionate Multi-Disciplinary Art Instructor who can teach both painting and pottery while creating an inspiring, welcoming experience for students of all skill levels. We are looking for an artist who is comfortable teaching a combination of oil painting, acrylics, watercolor, mixed media, sketching, wheel throwing, and handbuilding , and who enjoys helping students build confidence through thoughtful instruction and creative exploration. Role Overview As a Multi-Disciplinary Art Instructor, you will lead a variety of painting and ceramics classes and workshops, guiding students through foundational techniques as well as creative, expressive projects. You will play an important role in shaping the artistic experience at the studio by balancing technical instruction with a warm, encouraging teaching style. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling, including weekday evenings and/or weekends. Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Teaching Lead engaging classes in one or more of the following: Painting Oil Painting Acrylic Painting Watercolor Mixed Media Sketching and Drawing Fundamentals Pottery Wheel Throwing Handbuilding Functional Ceramics (bowls, mugs, vases, plates, etc.) Teach core artistic techniques including: Color theory, composition, brushwork, layering, and texture Sketching fundamentals and observational drawing Centering, pulling walls, shaping, trimming, finishing, and glazing techniques Safe and proper use of art materials and studio equipment Provide individualized feedback and adapt instruction for beginner through intermediate students. Curriculum & Creative Experience Follow and/or contribute to thoughtfully designed class curriculum Lead both technique-focused and creative, project-based workshops Help students complete meaningful artwork they are proud of Foster a calm, inspiring, and welcoming classroom environment Encourage creativity while building strong artistic foundations Studio & Student Support Prepare materials, tools, and workstations prior to each class Maintain a clean, organized, and safe studio environment Ensure proper handling of paints, pottery tools, and studio equipment Communicate clearly with students regarding drying, glazing, firing, and project timelines Help create a respectful, inclusive, and community-centered studio culture Ideal Candidate Strong proficiency in painting, pottery, or both disciplines Portfolio demonstrating artistic skill and versatility Experience with multiple painting mediums and/or wheel throwing and handbuilding Prior teaching, workshop, or instructional experience preferred Patient, engaging, and confident communicator Passionate about creativity, education, and community Reliable, professional, and collaborative What We Offer A beautifully designed, plant-filled, serene studio environment Opportunity to teach across a variety of artistic mediums Creative flexibility within a thoughtfully curated, premium art program Supportive, collaborative, and growing artistic community Opportunities to develop new workshops and specialty classes Schedule & Compensation Part-time Weekday evenings and/or weekends based on class schedule
