About the Role We are seeking a creative and energetic art instructor to join our team. This role is ideal for an artist with a strong foundation in both digital and traditional art, who enjoys working with children & teens (K-12 or older) in both structured classes and camp settings. In addition to leading digital art instruction, this instructor will play an active role in seasonal camps, guiding students through engaging, project-based experiences that build creativity, confidence, and technical skills. Materials & Mediums Students will explore a combination of digital and traditional art: Digital Art (Primary Focus) Digital illustration and painting (e.g., Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, or similar tools) Understanding of layers, brushes, color, composition, and workflow Intro to digital storytelling, character design, and concept art Traditional Art (Supporting Skills) Pencil / Graphite Markers / Ink Colored pencils Watercolor / Acrylic / Mixed media Key Qualifications BFA or MFA in Fine Arts, Digital Art, Illustration, or related field (preferred) Strong portfolio including digital artwork (required) Minimum 1+ year of experience teaching art classes — including digital art, fine art, or art camps — in schools or afterschool programs (required) Curriculum building experience for classes and/or camps (preferred) Experience working with children and teens (ages 4+) Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to adapt lessons for different skill levels and age groups Organized, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment Positive, engaging, and patient teaching style Primary Responsibilities Lead and manage small classes and camp groups (3-16 students) Teach digital art fundamentals and guide students through creative projects Support traditional art instruction when needed Plan and execute camp projects that are fun, structured, and skill-building Help students develop creativity, storytelling, and technical skills Provide individualized feedback and support Assist with daily camp flow, including transitions, supervision, and student engagement Maintain classroom setup, organization, and cleanup Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students Camp Responsibilities Assist in planning weekly camp themes and project progression (curriculum building experience a plus) Lead hands-on art activities in a structured yet engaging format Supervise students during transitions, breaks, and group activities Collaborate with team members to create a smooth and enjoyable camp experience Adapt activities for different ages and attention spans

Compensation & Benefits Pay:

$22+ per hour, based on experience

Schedule & Requirements Hours:

10+ hours per week to start, with full-time hours available during camp season Part-time position (to start) Availability required for: Weekday afternoons/evenings (after-school classes) Seasonal camps (Spring, Summer, and school breaks) — full-time hours available during camp season Sundays required. Saturday availability is a plus.
