Monday-Friday, 10 AM-6 PM summer camp hours shift to 9 AM-5 PM About the Role We're looking for a creative, hands-on educator to lead our after-school arts and making program for kids — and to help guide the rest of the teaching team. You'll design projects, teach hands-on across a range of mediums, and support fellow teachers so every group stays engaged, on-task, and safe. Morning hours are reserved for prep, planning, and mentoring other teachers before students arrive. This is a full-time, year-round position, including our summer camp program. What You'll Teach and Train Painting & drawing Sculpture & recycled/3D art Woodworking (kid-safe tools & techniques) Sewing & textiles Tinkering / basic electronics & mechanisms Cardboard structure building Cooking & food-based projects Leadership Responsibilities Help other teachers brainstorm and plan age-appropriate projects Provide guidance on materials, techniques, and lesson pacing Check in on other classrooms/groups throughout the afternoon to keep kids and teachers focused Troubleshoot on the fly when a project or group needs redirecting Serve as the go-to resource for questions during program hours What We're Looking For Experience working with children (ideally school-age, K-5) Comfortable across multiple craft/trade disciplines — jack-of-all-trades energy welcome Strong classroom management and safety awareness (tools, kitchen, materials) Some experience mentoring, training, or supervising other staff/teachers Ability to plan a rotating curriculum and adapt to different skill levels Patient, encouraging, and genuinely excited about creative exploration Need to Be First aid/CPR certification Nice to Have Background in art education, trades, or design Prior lead teacher or program coordinator experience
