Job Overview We are actively seeking a passionate and skilled Art Instructor to lead our workshops in the Chicago, IL area. You will be instrumental in delivering our signature workshops, responsible for guiding students of all backgrounds through the process of creating beautiful craft pieces. This role requires deep artistic proficiency in traditional crafts, exceptional teaching ability, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for sharing cultural heritage and creativity.
Key Responsibilities Lead Workshops:
Confidently lead scheduled group workshops (typically 2-3 hours duration) on traditional crafts in the Fairfax region, ensuring a positive, fun, and engaging experience for all attendees.
Instruction & Guidance:
Provide clear, step-by-step instructions on techniques, material handling, color theory, and design principles specific to the craft being taught (e.g., mosaic, painting, ceramics).
Customer Experience:
Actively manage the workshop environment, engaging with students, answering questions, and working towards maintaining our standard of 100% customer satisfaction.
Preparation & Maintenance:
Prepare all necessary materials and tools before workshops and ensure the studio space is clean and organized afterward.
Cultural Representation:
Represent the spirit of traditional art and culture with warmth and hospitality during all interactions.
Qualifications Experience:
Proven expertise and hands-on experience in Turkish Mosaic Art or other traditional, detailed craft techniques (e.g., painting, ceramics, specialized decorative arts).
Teaching Skills:
Prior experience in teaching, leading workshops, or public speaking is highly desirable.
Location:
Must be based in or near the Chicago, IL area or willing to commute to workshop locations.
Personality:
Energetic, patient, reliable, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Commitment:
A genuine passion for art, craftsmanship, and sharing cultural heritage with a diverse audience.
Language:
