Job Description

Under the direction of the principal and the fine arts program coordinator, the art teacher will teach classes asscheduled, will co-ordinate art with other curricula, and will be involved with all schedule exhibits.
  • Conduct art classes as scheduled.
  • Provide clear written plans on a weekly basis.
  • Report on pupil progress through student report cards and student analysis sheets to principal-program advisor.
  • Include painting, drawing, and mixed media with three-dimensional activities
  • Articulate interdisciplinary artprogram with other cooperating teams
  • Be involved with school and community activities and exhibits.
  • Implement art curriculum.
Report implementation to the principal and program advisor as directed Massachusetts certification in area of art. Demonstrated successful teaching in art. Demonstrated thorough knowledge of elements of art and successful techniques with emphasis on two-dimensional products in all media. Demonstrated successful teaching techniques in painting and drawing Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills. Demonstrated successful techniques in integrating art program into the curriculum of other disciplines. Ability to communicate articulately and cooperatively with teachers, parents, and administrators. Knowledge and sensitivity to successfully mainstream the learning disabled.
