• 5th grade in shape of before and after school care, summer camp and occasional no school day camps.

We welcome people of all different backgrounds and talents to bring something to the kids! Whether in shape of art, music, dance or technologies. We hope you can bring something meaningful to our group.

Position Description:

Reports to Program Coordinator

• General responsibilities include daily collaboration with youth leaders, creating art projects and themes for groups, problem solving within our programs, cooperating with team to plan weekly projects and activities for the children, take initiative in organizing and prepping art and crafts projects, supervise and lead groups of kids through activities.

Program Assistance:

Collaborate on the daily set-up and take-down of art activities and materials for the after school program Pick up students from nearby schools and bring them to our site Support the team in planning and implementing weekly art plans, as well as including academic support, enrichment activities, and recreational fun. Problem solve and improve daily programming Incorporate culture and Spanish language to your activities Encourage Spanish communication and listening Take initiative in finding activities, using body language and repetition to teach Spanish to different groups and different Spanish levels.

Activity Coordination:

Help plan and deliver art activities, indoor and outdoor games, and other educational projects Lead small group activities, ensuring they are engaging and age-appropriate based on the group of kids

Behavior Management:

Promote positive behavior through reinforcement, guidance, and by setting clear expectations Address behavioral issues promptly and effectively, escalating to the Site Coordinator as needed

Communication:

Act as a liaison between children, parents, and the Site Coordinator to foster a supportive and communicative environment Provide regular feedback to the team regarding student progress, behavior and program effectiveness

Safety and Supervision:

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during program hours Supervise children during both indoor and outdoor activities, maintaining a vigilant and proactive approach to prevent accidents and injuries

Requirements:

English + Spanish preferred but not required Ability to engage with the community, parents and partners. Some college coursework is desirable One or more years' experience working with children, youth or in a school setting. Must pass a background check Excellent communication skills Able to work in a team setting Regular, consistent and punctual attendance Experience working with diverse populations (strongly preferred). Able to respond to critical incidents and emergency situations with swift and mindful action Since we work with school age children, a clean background is a must. You must have a reliable mode of transportation. The position is located in Windom Community School 5821 Wentworth Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55419 from 4:00

• 6:00pm, Monday-Friday, there is also opportunity to support at our Summer Camp!

Expect to work around 20-25 hours per week. Let us know what days you are available.
