$18,200•$19,550 $12,800 (K-5th Art Enrichment Teacher) $ 5,400•6,750 (6th-8th Middle School Art Teacher Opportunity) Oak City Academy is seeking a creative, Christ-centered Art Enrichment Teacher to guide elementary students (K-5th) in cultivating artistic skills, creative thinking, and an appreciation for beauty through age-appropriate art instruction. The ideal candidate will design and deliver a vertically aligned curriculum that supports students' technical development and self-expression over time. This role includes planning and teaching weekly art lessons, assessing student growth, maintaining a well-managed and inspiring classroom environment, and coordinating with grade-level teachers to support cross-curricular connections. Instruction incorporates both fine art skills and opportunities for exploration, encouraging students to see art as a reflection of God's creativity. The teacher will be responsible for developing and refining curriculum that builds on core art concepts year over year—such as line, shape, color theory, texture, form, and perspective—while integrating art appreciation and technique. Weekly lesson plans will be submitted to the Director of Upper and Lower School and should align with OCA's mission, values, and pacing guides. Additional duties include informal student assessments, maintaining progress records, and organizing art displays or student exhibitions throughout the year. The teacher will attend monthly staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities. Opportunity to teach Middle School Art , providing high-quality visual arts instruction for students in grades 6th-8th. The first half of the school year will focus on visual arts instruction, with the second half dedicated to yearbook production.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required (Art Education or related field preferred) Experience in teaching art to elementary-aged children Confidence in designing curriculum and managing a classroom Familiarity with a wide range of artistic mediums, tools, and techniques Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Google Suite Deep commitment to Jesus Christ and full alignment with Oak City Academy's Statement of Faith If you're passionate about teaching children to see and create beauty through a faith-filled lens, we'd love to connect with you.
