Art Instructor

Job Description

Créatif Livingston is an award winning, modern & tech savvy art studio in Livingston NJ. The Art Instructor will report to the Studio Manager and will be responsible for ensuring that all art classes and workshops at the studio are a great success, including monitoring and ensuring customer safety and satisfaction. The Art Instructor must be outgoing, comfortable speaking to small and large groups, and able to lead activities independently for different age groups. The position is perfect for art instructors with at least 2 years of teaching experience. This position offers very good tips in addition to the regular pay.
RESPONSIBILITIES
(including, but not limited to): Maintain a fun, positive, interactive, and enthusiastic environment at the class/workshop. Greet customers in a warm and friendly manner and set the stage for a positive creative experience. Communicate with the guests regarding their painting session, workshop, class, or private event. Lead activities along with introducing and explaining all activities and assisting the customers in completing them. Maintain the flow of events and execute all tasks within the required timeframe. Ensure session areas are clean prior to and after an event. Ensure and enforce that the participants are following adequate safety measures and maintaining a clean and safe environment at all times. Handle customer complaints in a professional and timely manner and escalate to management as necessary. Address customer queries professionally.
SKILLS:
Experience in art/creative environment (required) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment (preferred) Prior customer service experience (preferred) Experience working with kids (preferred)
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to independently lead painting workshops and art activities
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations. Basic computer programs.
Skill and/or ability to:
Demonstrate proficiency and knowledge in area(s) of expertise. Communicate well both verbally and in writing; listen to and understand various viewpoints; share relevant information in a timely manner; maintain professionalism. Effectively and productively engage with others and establish trust, credibility, and confidence.

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
