Job Description

Duties Implement comprehensive art curricula tailored to different age groups in the elementary grades. (K-8) Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate various artistic mediums such as drawing, painting and digital art to stimulate creativity. Foster a positive classroom environment by utilizing effective behavior management and classroom management strategies to encourage participation and respect. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, upcoming projects, and classroom events to foster strong home-school connections. Ensure safety by adhering to mandated reporting laws, maintaining a safe classroom environment, and possessing current first aid and CPR certifications. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, special education accommodations, and standardized testing preparations related to arts education. Experience Prior teaching experience with K-8 student population is preferred. Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is highly desirable. Proven classroom management skills combined with effective communication skills to engage students and support their social-emotional growth. Familiarity with childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and child welfare practices. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws, standardized testing procedures related to arts programs, and best practices in New Jersey School teaching environments.
