Manage classroom responsibilities effectively, including behavior management, classroom management strategies, and fostering a positive learning environment for students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, standardized testing preparation, and portfolio reviews, providing constructive feedback to support growth. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, teacher collaboration initiatives, and curriculum implementation efforts to enrich the educational experience. Communicate regularly with parents through parent-teacher meetings and written updates to discuss student progress, behavioral concerns, or special education needs. Support students with special education requirements by implementing appropriate instructional modifications and accommodations to meet diverse learning styles. Requirements Proven classroom experience teaching middle school students in grades 6 through 9, preferably in private or Montessori school settings. Strong knowledge of art techniques, media, and history; familiarity with creative writing and childhood development principles is a plus. Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds, including students with special education needs or learning differences. Excellent communication skills for effective public speaking, parent engagement, and team collaboration. Ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles while maintaining high standards of educational compliance and regulation understanding. Skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, copy editing (including AP style), proofreading (including Chicago Manual of Style), and library services knowledge are desirable. Background in working with learning technology tools such as digital art platforms or educational software is preferred.
