Full Time General Statement:

Provide Art education by acquainting students with the fundamentals of Art practices and the foundation for future study in Art related fields through engaging, hands-on curriculum, and encouraging the development of problem-solving skills, critical thinking and creative/innovative reasoning.

Responsibilities:

Provides rigorous and relevant instruction on pre-approved hands-on curriculum in the content area. Integrates soft-skill instruction into competency-based content area activities. Provides evidence of project-based learning. Maintains a strong instructional focus utilizing the elements of effective instruction. Communicates a high level of expectation to students. Communicates clear learning goals and expectations to students. Adapts instruction to meet the needs of all students. Sequences content appropriately. Embeds school's student learning objectives in instruction. Posts course syllabus and appropriate materials on class website. Maintains and posts accurate and up to date grades. Uses appropriate level of questioning to promote understanding. Relates lesson content to prior and future learning. Addresses various learning styles. Requires students to analyze and apply knowledge. Requires Students to summarize information in written and/or verbal form. Conducts ongoing assessments for learning. Collaborates with core content teachers on common course planning, integration and alignment. Attends all relevant professional development opportunities. Displays enjoyment, humor, and enthusiasm for teaching and the expectation that students enjoy . Supports District goals. Reports student progress to parents and students. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Three to five years of teaching in Art education is preferred. Teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students. Human relations, leadership and conflict management.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required.
