At Averroes, you will develop as a teacher and as a professional with the support of other staff members and a positive environment prioritizing learning and professional development. We are looking for educational leaders who can play the role as teacher specialist of a subject and also can also be a mentor, guide, and facilitator of knowledge for students. Staff are asked to teach as well as lead a club, an elective, coach a team, and/or lead a school committee. Our general Instructor description is as follows:

Job Purpose:

To lead and teach classes in multiple areas. To work with, coach, support a co-teacher or TA at times and collaborate across the curriculum. To be a part of a larger staff collective of teachers steering committee To carry out professional duties and to have responsibility for an assigned class and students. To be responsible for the day-to-day work and management of the class and the safety and welfare of the pupils, during on-site and off-site activities. To promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education. To improve on yourself personally and professionally while being a part of the Averroes team/community. To commit to the school and feel a part working with others for the best interest of the school, the students, the parents, and the community. To attend the majority of school events To be involved in a club, elective, and/or sport To be on an administrative committee To be a team player and life-long learner Main Duties and Responsibilities To create an environment of learning, growth, and development for students To plan for and teach classes as assigned in the subject area using methods involving Growth Mindset, Seminars, Didactic and Dialectic To support and lead co-teachers (as needed) To facilitate and guide TA's in the classroom and beyond To maintain records including grades, disciplinary, appropriate growth, and change in students areas based on teacher goals and student goals. To support students with IEP's and or special accommodations To present proper and regular communication amongst students, staff, parents, and the community around curriculum, student progress, grades, and narratives To support students in the process of portfolios, Student-led meetings, culminating sessions, ramadan, etc. To lead an advisory group of students. To attend school related events and meetings (townhall, expo's, ramadan/eid events, festive activities, field trips, travel (as needed), fundraising events, staff/board events, etc. To be a subject matter expert that facilitates learning To work with all students regardless of background and engage parents and admin to ensure all students are learning

Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
