We are looking for educators who can visit one or two times per week. Our ideal candidate is a fluent speaker who brings language to life through storytelling, music, games, and connection
  • aligned with our nature-based, child-led approach to learning.
Experienced teachers and native speakers without formal teaching backgrounds are both encouraged to apply; training and support can be provided.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Forager School is a progressive microschool on California's North Coast, rooted in experiential, inquiry-driven education. We believe children learn best when they are engaged in meaningful work, immersed in nature, and given the time and space to follow their curiosity. Language, art, and music are essential parts of our whole-child model, allowing students to explore identity, culture, and expression.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead engaging Spanish language sessions for elementary children
  • Create a playful and immersive learning environment through music, storytelling, movement, games, and real-world connection
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate language instruction into broader themes and projects when possible
  • Develop consistent routines and rhythms for language exposure, appropriate to early elementary learners
  • Observe and respond to students' interests and needs; adapt plans as needed to support joyful learning
  • Participate in occasional community events or celebrations where language and culture can be shared
Qualifications:
  • Fluent in Spanish, with clear pronunciation and conversational ease
  • Able to commute to campus in downtown Gualala once or twice per week
