Position Type:
Part-Time Whizara is looking for energetic and dependable ASL Instructors to lead engaging, in-person after-school classes for K-12 students. This is a meaningful opportunity to introduce children to American Sign Language and Deaf culture — with curriculum and lesson plans provided. Whether you're a student, recent graduate, or professional with a passion for ASL and teaching, we'd love to hear from you! Key Responsibilities Teach interactive ASL lessons using our ready-to-go curriculum Build a fun, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Adapt instruction to different ages and learning styles Manage classroom behavior and keep students engaged Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and operations staff Provide brief updates on student participation and progress Arrive on time and prepared to teach each session Qualifications Friendly, patient, and passionate about ASL and education Proficient in American Sign Language (beginner to advanced welcome) Enjoys working with K-12 students Dependable and professional Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus (not required) Reliable transportation to Oakland, CA 94618 Able to work 1 hour per week for after school class Why You'll Love Working With Us Inspire students to learn a beautiful and meaningful language Develop valuable skills in teaching, leadership, and communication Part-time after-school hours Receive complete training, materials, and ongoing support Join a creative, mission-driven education team making a difference and share your passion for ASL — empower students to connect and communicate in a whole new way!

$25.00 - $40.00 per hour Application Question(s): Are you a US Citizenship or Green Card holder who is authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future? Are you at least 18 years of age? Have you worked with kids (K-12 students) in any teaching/ tutoring role, in-person or online? Are you able to teach American Sign Language 1?
