Job Description

¡Viva el Español! is a non-profit Spanish Language Program for children, teens, and adults. We teach before and after school in the East Bay and Marin. We also offer summer camps, teen internships, private lessons, and adult classes. We are looking for creative, organized, and dedicated individuals who are native Spanish speakers, enjoy working with children, and are excited to share their language and culture. We are hiring part-time teachers for 4 to 8 hours per week to work with elementary in Orinda schools. We are seeking both experienced teachers and those who are interested in receiving training.
Job Requirements:
Availability from 1:20-3:20 PM Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays Willingness to commit to working from September 2026 through May 2027 Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in Spanish (native Spanish speakers only) Ability to communicate in English Previous experience with children is desirable Enthusiastic, engaging style Demonstrates initiative and a strong work ethic Responsible, punctual, dependable team player Organized and attentive to detail Reliable transportation What We Offer at ¡Viva el Español!: A friendly and supportive work environment Curriculum, detailed lesson plans, and all teaching supplies Training Continued support in the classroom and with communication to parents and school administration Excellent pay, depending on experience ($25-$27 per hour) Reimbursement for miles driven between schools Bonuses throughout the year Yearly salary review based on performance Please copy and paste the following link in a browser to complete our employment application at https://vivaelespanol.org/our-teachers/.
