Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Chinese Teacher to inspire students in their language learning journey. This role involves delivering engaging Chinese language instruction to students across various age groups, including infants, two-year-olds, preschoolers, and elementary and middle school students. The Chinese teaching would involved roughly half time. For a fulltime position, the teacher would need to teach other subjects as well as either the preschool-age or school-age level. Classes will be small (8-10 students) and will be grouped by ability levels. Preparation time will be paid. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive Chinese language curriculum aligned with educational standards and student needs Design engaging lesson plans that include interactive activities and culturally relevant materials Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and effective classroom management practices Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and ways to support learning at home Incorporate literacy and math education for expanded teaching duties (i.e., 40 hours) Maintain compliance with educational regulations and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students Experience Proven classroom teaching experience in preschool, elementary, and/or middle school settings, preferably with experience in private or international schools Strong background in Chinese language instruction Experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and implementing culturally responsive teaching strategies Must be fluent in English, especially for expanded teaching duties (i.e., 40 hours)
