Job Description

Marin Academy seeks a part-time Spanish teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Candidates should have at least five years of Spanish teaching experience at the high school level and a desire to teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels. In addition to possessing native or near-native fluency in Spanish, a bachelor's degree in Spanish or a language-related field is required. A master's or higher-level degree in Spanish or a language-related field is preferred. This position will involve the teaching of two Spanish classes. The World Language Department at Marin Academy requires that students take three years of one language no matter their level of entry. Our Spanish program includes levels 1, 2, 3, 3-honors, 4, 4-honors, 5, and 5/6-honors, and Spanish for Heritage Speakers courses. MA's world language program is a total immersion program beginning at level one. Level two Spanish is a rigorous study of vocabulary and grammar. Levels three through four focus on the development of fluency, and levels five and six focus exclusively on literature, history, and current events. Candidates should have the inclination and experience to work in a diverse community focused on issues of equity and social justice. Candidates should be ready and excited to work and lead collaboratively in teams inside the World Language Department and across MA's academic departments. Ideal candidates will have experience with and interest in curriculum development and competency-based learning/assessment. A full time teacher with 5-10 years of experience and a Master's degree can expect to earn between $103,124 - $111,960 per year.
