Job Description

Tahoe Hockey Academy is California's first and only residential boarding school dedicated to the sport of ice hockey. Located in South Lake Tahoe, we serve high school student-athletes in grades 9 through 12, delivering a purposeful three-tiered program built around academics, athletics, and character. Our mission is to inspire and impact our students' lives through character, trust, and integrity so they are able to benefit others with purpose. We do not subscribe to the notion of "one size fits all." Instead, we build personalized plans — both in the classroom and on the ice — that honor each student's background, perspective, and goals. Our curriculum is designed to prepare student-athletes for the challenges of college life and beyond, fostering critical thinking, peer collaboration, and enhanced communication skills throughout every subject area. We are seeking a full-time Spanish and Social Science Teacher who brings energy, warmth, and genuine expertise to two distinct and complementary academic disciplines. This is a small school — everyone wears multiple hats and contributes to the life of the community beyond the classroom. Faculty at Tahoe Hockey Academy are not just content specialists; they are mentors, advisors, and partners in each student-athlete's development. Teaching hours run Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with daily prep time reserved from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. each morning. Our small student-to-teacher ratio allows faculty to build the kinds of relationships that genuinely move the needle for students — relationships built on trust, communication, and a shared commitment to excellence.

RESIDENTIAL LIFE

Residential faculty are provided a private studio apartment with a private bathroom in exchange for participation in our residential life program.
