Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dynamic Part-Time Mandarin Teacher to lead our language instruction across Kindergarten through 8th grade . In this role, you will design and deliver age-appropriate, engaging Mandarin lessons—from playful, song-and-story-based activities for primary grades to structured conversation, grammar, and literacy for middle schoolers. This position is approximately 20 hours per week , including direct instructional time, lesson preparation, and collaborative planning

Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:

Plan and deliver dynamic Mandarin lessons tailored to developmental stages ranging from Early Childhood/Kindergarten through Middle School (K-8). Utilize immersive, TPR (Total Physical Response), and communicative teaching approaches for primary grades, transitioning to structured reading and writing. Integrate modern pedagogical methods and technology (interactive tools, apps, multimedia) to keep language acquisition active and engaging. Incorporate Chinese cultural traditions, art, music, and customs into the curriculum to foster global awareness.

Classroom Management & Student Support:

Maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment tailored to varying age groups. Assess student progress through formative evaluations, and performance tasks; provide constructive feedback to support individual growth. Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying language proficiency levels within the same grade band.

Communication & Collaboration:

Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student growth, curriculum themes, and classroom activities. Collaborate with administration and grade-level teachers to align Mandarin language goals with overall school themes and events. Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development scheduled within your hours. Experience Proven classroom teaching experience in elementary or middle school settings, preferably with Mandarin language instruction Familiarity with LMS platforms and integrating learning technology into daily lessons Experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with special education needs Strong understanding of childhood development principles and literacy education in Mandarin Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to adapt lessons for various learning styles Experience in curriculum development, implementation, and assessment strategies for language instruction Excellent communication skills, including parent engagement and collaboration with teaching teams Join us to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives by inspiring a new generation of Mandarin speakers.
