Department English Language Program-OPS Compensation $30.00 Hourly Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, English Education, or a related field.
• Experience teaching English to multilingual learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
• Knowledge and experience teaching academic English.
• Ability to manage a classroom effectively and create an engaging learning environment.

ESL Instructors :

Prepare and deliver engaging English language lessons using established curriculum materials along with instructor-developed supplemental materials. Teach assigned courses in reading/writing, listening/speaking/vocabulary, and grammar across the program's six proficiency levels. Assess student learning and provide appropriate feedback/academic support to students. Maintain effective classroom management and create a positive, engaging learning environment. Attend faculty meetings and collaborate with instructors within the program. Proctor final examinations. Hold one paid office hour per week. Reading/Writing instructors hold one additional paid tutoring hour per week. Preparation, grading, and other instructional responsibilities are included within the scheduled teaching hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or a related field. Experience teaching ESL/EFL in higher education or university-preparation programs. Experience teaching English abroad. Statement(s) of Understanding This position requires a background check.
