Job description: About Keith Country Day School Keith Country Day School is an independent, coeducational college-preparatory school serving students from preschool through 12th grade in Rockford , Illinois . Keith is committed to academic excellence, character development, and fostering a global perspective through engaging and innovative instruction. Position Summary Keith Country Day School is seeking a passionate and engaging French Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop strong communication skills in French while cultivating an appreciation for French language, culture, and global perspectives. The teacher will create a dynamic classroom environment that supports students at varying proficiency levels and encourages active participation in language learning. Responsibilities Teach French courses to students at assigned grade levels. Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum goals. Foster proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in French. Incorporate cultural studies of French-speaking countries into lessons. Utilize interactive teaching strategies and technology to enhance language acquisition. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with colleagues and participate in faculty meetings and professional development. Contribute to the broader school community through extracurricular involvement when possible. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in French, World Languages, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Teaching experience preferred, particularly in an independent or college-preparatory school setting. Strong proficiency in spoken and written French. Ability to engage students through creative and interactive instruction. Excellent communication and classroom management skills. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching multiple proficiency levels of French. Experience integrating technology into language instruction. Passion for global education and cultural engagement.
