Reid Temple Christian Academy, Glenn Dale, MD Summary:

The Mandarin Immersion Teacher is charged with the responsibility of delivering the subject curriculum to students using accepted best practices of instructional methodology, communicating student progress with parents, working in collaboration with team members to develop and deepen curricular units, participating fully in the required activities of the school, and supporting the learning and social development of all students with a high level of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize in-depth knowledge of content and Reid Temple Christian Academy outcomes, students, immersion pedagogy and resources to design vigorous curricula Implement diverse and appropriate instruction and approaches to ensure both language and academic success Analyze student learning and plan and administer a variety of appropriate formative and summative assessments Collaborate with colleagues and actively participate grade level and school level teams Ensure effective and positive parent communication Participate and coach one or more student activities outside the classroom

Qualifications/Requirements:

Authorization to work in the USA Bachelor's degree in Chinese Education or Elementary Education Teaching Certificate in Foreign Language, Chinese, or elementary education Experience of teaching a full immersion program Minimum of two years classroom teaching experience, not tutoring High degree of fluency in Mandarin is required, preference given to those who are also fluent English speakers Commitment to providing a holistic Christian education which ministers to the whole child - body, mind and spirit Knowledge of the teaching/learning process in child development Ability to modify instruction to meet the individual needs of students Ability to exercise control and maintain classroom discipline
