Job Description

Valtir is currently looking to hire an Equipment Operator/Driver for our branch in Glenn Dale, MD. Valtir has been an industry leader and global supplier of highway safety products for over 50 years. Working with industry partners and safety experts, Valtir continues to bring the next generation of innovative safety products to a dynamically changing market. Our products are specified, sold, and installed throughout North America and in more than 100 international markets. What you'll do:
  • Receive, store and ship materials and related reporting in accordance with established procedures
  • Pull, package, stage and load outgoing shipments
  • Unload, unpack and inspect incoming shipments and locate in designated area
  • Safely operate appropriate equipment for movement of materials
  • Ensure the efficiency of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment
  • Complete shipping and receiving documentation and records
  • Ensure accurate identification of parts and materials
  • Maintain an inventory of product, inspects, cleans, and tests for wear or defects, and repairs as needed
  • May paint and or stencil product for identification and marketing
  • Conduct testing and repair of various equipment
  • Delivers and sets-up product per work order
  • Loads, secures, and unloads cargo
  • Maintains radio or telephone contact with dispatcher to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up
  • Maintains logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations
  • May be responsible for vehicle maintenance and presentation.
What You'll Need:
  • One year of related experience
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred but not required
  • Experience driving a flatbed truck preferred
  • Experience with city driving a plus
  • Must have a satisfactory driving record
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs
  • Experience operating forklift and small hand tools
  • Ability to follow all company safety rules, procedures, and applicable governmental regulations
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
