Melvindale Northern Allen Park Public Schools Role and Responsibilities Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans. Maintain established routine of school and classroom procedures Maintain a safe and orderly environment. Create a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity of students. Remains at school for the entire scheduled school day unless otherwise instructed by the building principal. Make use of instructional procedures and materials which are most suitable for attaining lesson goals. Work with small groups of students, as needed, based on teacher or administrator direction for intervention purposes. Be flexible in daily schedule for changes and reassignments within the building. Support the building leadership mission and vision. Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements Minimum of 60 credit hours from accredited college or university. State of Michigan Substitute Permit Fluent, conversational Spanish Speaking required. Preferred Skills Ability to read and interpret directions and lesson plans. Flexibility and ability to adapt to changes in daily schedule. Job Summary In the absence of a teacher, supervise, instruct and support students as directed by the teacher or administration. Terms of Employment Scheduled to work each day that students are assigned to attend class. Schedule to be determined by District calendar. This is a long term substitute position intended to start in mid November 2026 and last for approximately 12 weeks. This position is contracted through edustaff.
