Job Description
Tierra Encantada - Bloomington is looking for a passionate, dependable, and enthusiastic Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our growing team! We are a Spanish Immersion early childhood center focused on creating a warm, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and develop a love for learning. Our Pre-K program is designed to prepare children for kindergarten through hands-on, play-based learning while incorporating Spanish throughout the classroom experience. What You'll Do Create a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment for Pre-K children. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that encourage learning through play and exploration. Follow our Learning Beyond Paper curriculum and adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of the children. Incorporate Spanish into daily classroom routines, activities, conversations, songs, and learning experiences. Support children's social-emotional, cognitive, language, physical, and creative development. Establish consistent classroom routines and maintain a positive classroom environment. Build positive relationships with children and their families. Communicate regularly with families regarding their child's daily experiences, development, and classroom activities. Work collaboratively with Assistant Teachers and other members of the teaching team. Maintain an organized and engaging classroom. Participate in classroom projects, special events, and center activities. Follow daily health, safety, and classroom procedures. Help create meaningful experiences that prepare children for their transition to kindergarten. What We're Looking For Previous experience working with preschool or Pre-K children. A genuine passion for working with young children. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable, patient, positive, and nurturing personality. Ability to create engaging activities and maintain an active classroom environment. Ability to communicate professionally and positively with families and coworkers. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Early Childhood Education experience or education is preferred.
