Ability to effectively instruct students in Spanish language education aligned with school and state curriculum standards. Ability to create a classroom environment that fosters communication, creativity, curiosity, and social-emotional growth for all learners. Ability to teach in ways that actively engage students in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Spanish. Ability to collaborate with administration and faculty to support student growth and meet school-wide goals. Practicing members of the Catholic faith are preferred, with a willingness to support and integrate the mission and values of Catholic education. Duties Include Prepare engaging, standards-aligned Spanish lessons that promote communication, comprehension, and cultural understanding. Teach vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and conversational skills in developmentally appropriate ways. Introduce students to the cultures, traditions, and histories of Spanish-speaking countries. Use interactive strategies such as songs, games, dialogues, and projects to support language acquisition. Assess student progress using appropriate criteria and provide constructive feedback that supports growth and confidence. Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, structured, and conducive to language learning and participation. Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding student progress and effort. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as scheduled. Encourage students through positive reinforcement, patience, and support for risk-taking in language use. Support school-wide initiatives such as cultural celebrations, liturgies, and community events as needed. Complete additional duties during and after school hours as assigned by administration. Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Faculty Handbook, Parent-Student Handbook, and school guidelines. Qualifications Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification (or eligibility for immediate certification) with demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging, standards-based Spanish instruction. Strong classroom management and organizational skills, including the ability to maintain a structured yet interactive learning environment. Ability to assess student language development in a fair and supportive manner and communicate progress effectively to stakeholders. Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and the ability to integrate values of faith, respect, and cultural appreciation into the Spanish classroom.
