Spanish Teacher Ascension Academy - 5.0 Amarillo, TX Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications School experience Spanish Engaging lesson design (student motivation techniques) Master's degree Bachelor's degree Spanish Teaching Full Job Description Ascension Academy, a private college-preparatory school, is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Spanish teacher to teach Spanish language and culture to middle and high school students. This role emphasizes rigorous instruction that encourages students to develop proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and listening. The ideal candidate will also support our mission: To provide an exemplary college-preparatory education in a challenging, faith-affirming environment to maximize the potential of every student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish courses at all levels, including IA and Dual Credit
- Develop students' proficiency in all forms of communication: interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational
- Incorporate authentic materials and cultural perspectives into instruction
- Assess student progress using a variety of methods and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with students and families
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages language immersion and active participation
- Support and model the school's mission
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish, World Languages, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish
- Strong knowledge of Spanish grammar, literature, and culture
- Experience teaching Spanish at the middle school and/or high school level is preferred
- Desire for involvement with coaching, club, or additional activity outside the classroom
- Commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Ability to create an engaging, student-centered language learning environment
- Teaching Certification is appreciated, but not required
