Exempt Job Summary The Department of English and Modern Languages seeks candidates to teach lower division composition courses, including co-requisite courses and courses in the first-year composition sequence. These include ENGL 0301, 1301, and 1302. Essential Job Functions Teach courses at assigned times using current pedagogical methods, keeping accurate records of students' grades. Maintain effective and timely communication with students, chair of department, and composition director. Minimum and Desired Qualifications Applicants should have an earned MA in English.
Supplemental Information Key Competencies:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to implement effective and innovative teaching strategies.
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift 25 lbs and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.
