Ideal candidates will have flexible availability and a passion for working with young children. Our immersion teachers provide students with engaging learning activities and experiences while immersing them in the Spanish language. The role aims to help students reach their full intellectual, emotional, physical, and social potential, as well as develop the skills necessary for successful societal participation. Substitute teachers are responsible for covering classes in the absence of regular teachers. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience and develop teaching skills. ISSA supports professional development for substitute teachers and welcomes retired teachers. About the

Job Responsibilities:
Arrive on time Teach assigned subjects according to lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher Oversee classroom routines and activities Ensure the safety and well-being of the children Supervise children during recess, lunch, nap/quiet time, and pickup Develop positive parent-teacher relationships and promote partnerships Contribute to a friendly, respectful, and open working environment Monitor student activities on school premises and ensure student safety Follow all school policies, rules, and procedures Attend substitute training sessions as required Perform other duties as assigned Teachers may need to lift up to 35 pounds
Qualifications:
Experienced teacher who enjoys working in a diverse, international environment Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited university; master's degree or teaching certification preferred Fluency in Spanish and English Experience with a transdisciplinary curriculum framework and designing engaging, student-centered lesson plans Clear understanding of child development stages and the social/emotional needs of children Excellent classroom management skills Comfortable working in a mixed-age, multilingual classroom Proficiency with standard office equipment and software (e.g., computer, printer, laminating machine) Must pass a background check
