Internexus Provo opened its doors as part of Internexus Salt Lake City in January 2012. We have since catered to students from all over the world who are working towards their educational goals in the USA. Our team of qualified English as a second language (ESL) teachers is always seeking to encourage and challenge students to reach higher levels of learning. We are seeking to hire capable individuals who are team-players and committed to the school's mission, "to foster world citizenship". We welcome applications working towards their bachelor's degree.
Primary responsibilities:
Lesson planning
  • Preparing for classes tailored to low proficiency learners and showing written evidence of preparation upon the Academic Office's request. Organization
  • Preparing for the teaching assignment with syllabus and class schedule based on the school's academic calendar and curriculum. Teaching
  • Guiding the learning process toward the achievement of established Internexus curriculum goals and tests to low proficiency learners. Instruction
  • Communicating clear lesson objectives and instructional expectations to the students at the beginning of and throughout the lesson. Assessment
  • Evaluating and reporting accomplishments of students on a regular basis by providing an updated gradebook on a weekly basis. Rapport
  • Providing social and emotional support for ESL students by establishing and maintaining teacher-student rapport. Pedagogy
  • Employing a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including current technology and whole/small-group or individual learning. Professionalism
  • Following a code of conduct, respect, and discipline at all times in the classroom which by consistently establishing and enforcing administrative policies. Communication
  • Seeking the support of the Academic Office when concerns regarding students, faculty, or staff arise. Commitment
  • Maintaining an ongoing program of professional development by attending bi-weekelly teacher meetings, being receptive to feedback provided by students and the Academic Office, and cooperating on observation days and scheduling debrief meetings.
  • Instructors also have the opportunity to participate in in-service and staff development activities such as curriculum development, academic advisory, material development, etc.
Required Qualifications:
1+ year of teaching experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
TESOL certification Experience with medium/large classroom settings Experience teaching adults Ability to lead the classroom
