Open Until Filled Woodbridge School District is accepting applications for a Spanish teacher at WMS. This is a full-time, 10-month, benefit-eligible teaching position.JOB SUMMARY
: The Middle School Spanish Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based world language instruction to students in grades 6â€"8. The teacher will foster students' language proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while promoting cultural awareness and appreciation. This role includes creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment and supporting diverse learners through differentiated instruction.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
: Must hold or be eligible for teaching certification in World Language Teacher, Spanish K-12 in the State of Delaware Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish (oral and written) Knowledge of second language acquisition strategies and best practices for middle school learners Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Strong classroom management and organizational skills Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Experience integrating technology into instruction preferred Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive learning environmentESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Plan and deliver engaging Spanish language lessons aligned with state and district standards Develop students' proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish Incorporate cultural studies to deepen students' understanding of Spanish-speaking countries and communities Create and maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and academic success for all learners. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs, Multilingual Language Learners (MLL), and students requiring additional academic support. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed. Use a variety of instructional strategies, including project-based learning, multimedia tools, and technology integration to enhance student engagement. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns. Attend faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school events. Deliver targeted instruction to students with diverse learning needs, using evidence-based strategies tailored to individual abilities. Adapt lesson plans and materials to accommodate the learning styles and needs of students, ensuring inclusivity and access to the general education curriculum. Support the social and emotional growth of students through positive classroom management and the development of strong teacher-student relationships. Maintain a well-organized classroom and ensure a structured environment that supports learning for all students. This is a 10-month position based on a 188-day annual contract. Employees are expected to work 7.5 hours per day, consistent with the established school and district schedules. Responsibilities may include duties beyond instructional time, such as meetings, professional development, and school-related events. Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance, fulfill all assigned responsibilities, and demonstrate flexibility to meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and the district.ADA ACCOMMODATIONS DISCLOSURE
