The Biological Sciences Adjunct Faculty member will be responsible for facilitating General Biology Laboratory courses. The instructor must effectively communicate with students and support student achievement of educational goals. The instructor must foster a quality educational environment to promote positive student outcomes. The position is in-person, on-campus. This is NOT a remote teaching opportunity. Hiring for (1) One Position in the General Education Department to Teach for Spring Term Beginning May 4th, 2026 Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Anatomy and Physiology, or related, or an alternative degree and a minimum of 18 credit hours in biology.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Previous teaching experience in higher education preferred
  • Desire to engage students in vigorous academic dialogue Position Responsibilities
  • Teach all assigned classes and facilitates laboratory experiences, as scheduled
  • Implement curriculum and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Prepare materials, as needed, to complete didactic and lab activities
  • Provide a classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Uphold all OIAH policies and procedures
  • Return homework, examinations, and student feedback in a timely manner
  • Use appropriate assessment tools to measure student learning
  • Submit and maintain accurate records of attendance and grades
  • Submit all paperwork in a timely manner
  • Identify and assess students who are in need of additional instruction to successfully complete the course objectives
  • Maintain expertise and competence in the applicable field of study
  • Attend meetings and functions as specified by administration
