Job Description
Position Summary The Department of Biological Sciences at Hampton University invites applications for an Adjunct Professor Pool to teach Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology, or Introductory Biology, beginning August 2026. We seek a dynamic educator committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and supporting students from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to: Teach undergraduate lecture and/or laboratory courses in Introductory Biology, Microbiology, and/or Anatomy and Physiology Prepare course materials, deliver instruction, and assess student learning in alignment with departmental expectations Employ effective, student-centered, and inclusive teaching practices Support student success through timely communication, availability to students, and professional engagement with the department Maintain accurate course records and submit grades in accordance with university deadlines

Qualifications Required:
Master's degree in Biology or a closely related field, or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Biology or the relevant teaching discipline Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teachingPreferred:
PhD in Biology or a closely related field Prior college-level teaching experience in Introductory Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, or related areas Evidence of student-centered and inclusive teaching practices Experience teaching students from underrepresented groups in STEM Salary is based on student enrollment.
