JOB SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS
Nichols College is seeking qualified professionals and educators to join the adjunct faculty team in its AACSB-accredited School of Business. We welcome applications from individuals interested in teaching undergraduate and, where appropriate, graduate courses. Possible opportunities across all various business disciplines. Course assignments vary by semester based on enrollment and program needs and may include introductory through advanced-level courses. As an adjunct faculty member, you will provide practical, engaging instruction that connects academic concepts with real-world business applications. Nichols College emphasizes experiential learning, professional preparation, and innovative teaching practices, and adjunct faculty are encouraged to draw upon their professional expertise in the classroom. Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course basis. Successful adjunct instructors may be considered for additional teaching opportunities in future semesters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with established course learning objectives. Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Incorporate practical applications, examples, cases, projects, technology, and other experiential approaches where appropriate. Provide timely feedback and evaluation of student work. Maintain regular communication with students and appropriate College personnel. Submit grades and other required course information according to College deadlines. Participate in assessment or other academic activities related to assigned courses when appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications: Master's degree or higher in the discipline being taught or a closely related field. Demonstrated academic or professional expertise relevant to the teaching area. Ability to communicate effectively and engage students from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds.
Preferred qualifications:
Previous college-level teaching experience. Significant professional experience in the discipline. Experience incorporating technology, applied projects, case studies, simulations, or other experiential learning approaches into instruction. Terminal degree or relevant professional certification where appropriate to the discipline. Nichols College particularly values adjunct faculty who can bring current industry practices and professional experiences into the classroom.
