Job Description
Belhaven University Adjunct Faculty - Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) The School of Business at Belhaven University is recruiting a pool of adjunct faculty to teach courses in our growing Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program. Adjunct faculty in the DBA program play a vital role in developing practitioner-scholars who integrate rigorous research with real-world business practice and ethical, faith-informed leadership. Position Overview Belhaven University's School of Business invites applications for adjunct positions to teach in the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program. We seek experienced scholar-practitioners who are passionate about doctoral-level education and bring a rich blend of academic excellence, professional expertise, and commitment to Christian values. Primary Responsibilities Teach assigned doctoral-level content or research methodology courses using effective online or hybrid instructional strategies Design and facilitate interactive, application-focused learning experiences that connect theory to professional practice Maintain frequent and open communication with students, faculty, and staff through email, Canvas, telephone, or other appropriate media Review course content, activities, and assignments prior to the term start Provide students with timely and specific feedback on assignments and coursework (typically within 7 business days) Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours or 1 business day Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit final grades according to university policy Participate in program-related activities as needed to support student success and program quality Required Qualifications Terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA, or equivalent doctoral degree in Business Administration or a closely related field) from a regionally accredited institution Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas relevant to the DBA curriculum (e.g., leadership, strategic management, research methods, business intelligence, healthcare administration, or other business specializations) Prior teaching or mentoring experience at the graduate level (doctoral experience preferred) Proficiency with learning management systems (Canvas preferred) and virtual meeting platforms Strong communication and organizational skills An enthusiastic Christian faith consistent with the university's faith and mission statements (see http://www.belhaven.edu/Belhaven/mission.htm ) Preferred Qualifications Record of scholarly activity, applied research, or publications Industry certifications or specialized expertise in business domains Experience supporting non-traditional, working adult learners Application Process Interested candidates should submit: Cover letter addressing your qualifications, teaching philosophy, and commitment to Belhaven's Christian mission Current curriculum vitae highlighting academic credentials, teaching experience, research/scholarly activity, and professional leadership roles Statement of faith (including a brief account—no more than 750 words—of your spiritual pilgrimage, the time and circumstances of becoming a believer in Christ, and your current relationship with Christ) Please review Belhaven University's Commitment Statement, including employee expectations: http://www.belhaven.edu/belhaven/employment_pdfs/LetterOfEmploymentCommitment.pdf .
