Job Description
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Part-Time Business Faculty and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Program Director Mount Vernon Nazarene University exists to shape lives through educating the whole person and cultivating Christ-likeness for lifelong learning and service. Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) is an intentionally Christian teaching university for traditional age students, graduate students, and working adults who seek opportunities to learn and grow in an academic community of faith. The University provides the context for a transformational experience through excellent academics, service opportunities, caring relationships, and a nurturing spiritual and social environment. Faculty, staff, and students are challenged to achieve their highest potential, to become increasingly Christ-like and to make a difference in their world through lifelong service. The University is seeking a part-time Business Faculty and DBA Program Director within the College of Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS), beginning in summer 2026. The position includes a teaching contract based on a 12-credit hour load with DBA Program Director administrative responsibilities. This is a primarily remote position with occasional travel to the MVNU campus for faculty meetings, all employee meetings, graduation, academic events, etc. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Compensation is competitive among the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Responsibilities include:- Providing strategic and operational leadership for the DBA program, including adjunct mentorship, curriculum development, assessment, and oversight of the Applied Doctoral Research Project.
- Teaching courses in the DBA program and open to teaching other graduate business courses.
- Supporting departmental efforts for continued improvement of programs.
- Participating in faculty governance, accreditation support, and institutional service.
- Engaging in continued scholarly and professional development.
- Additional responsibilities in alignment with division and university needs. Qualifications for the successful candidate:
- An Evangelical Christian confession of faith and experience is required with the ability to integrate Christian values into all aspects of life and learning and a willingness to adhere to university Lifestyle Guidelines.
- Doctorate in Business (DBA, Ph.
D) or business-related field from an accredited institution, with evidence of scholarly work.
- Personal commitment to Jesus Christ, and understanding and alignment of the heritage, doctrine, and practices of the Church of the Nazarene.
- Commitment to high quality and innovative online classroom instruction.
- Commitment to strategic program innovation and continuous improvement.
- Evidence of successful previous teaching experience in higher education preferred.
- Evidence of proficiency in online instruction and assessment technologies and software preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective collaboration with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders.
- Desire to help students succeed in the university setting; strong connectivity to adult college student needs.
