This position will play a critical role in the Bachelor of Business Administration- Management degree program.
This faculty member:
Will teach a variety of business courses, including quantitative courses, in accordance with the SCC Business School's collaborative learning-centered philosophy. Courses will include GBS220- Quantitative Methods in Business, GBS221
- Business Statistics, and BUS305
- Business Analytics, among others, according to the needs of the Business School.

Supervises and instructs students in quantitative business courses as well as other classes as assigned. Instructs students of various ages and diverse backgrounds in classroom, online, live-online, hybrid, and adaptive settings. Supports student success, evaluates knowledge of subject matter taught, assesses student performance, maintains grades, and develops course materials.Course Development:
Designs and develops syllabi and instructional materials for a variety of courses, modalities, and course lengths. This includes utilizing various teaching methods to promote effective learning in students with diverse abilities, levels of academic preparation, ages, and socio-economic/cultural backgrounds.Student Support:
Maintains office hours to assist and advise students, with the purpose of answering questions that students may have over the subject matters being taught and/or providing information to students planning to major in a business discipline. Develop, or assist with supervising, a business student club or networking group.Departmental Engagement:
Participates in departmental projects and initiatives, including but not limited to FOI events, recruitment, success, and retention activities, development of curriculum and new courses, program review, student assessment, and others. Provide support in the operation and supervision of the accounting and statistics learning center.Committees:
Contributes to college governance by serving on college and/or district committees. This also includes collaborating with the Business Instructional Council faculty in developing course and program curriculum; contributing to the Business School's program reviews and improvement initiatives; building and maintaining collaborative external partnerships.Professional Growth:
Engages in professional growth opportunities to enhance subject knowledge and develop pedagogical skills. Models the business profession's high standards through their commitment to excellence, innovation, integrity, and teamwork. Keeps their knowledge up-to-date to assure the students within the business programs are learning the newest skills expected of graduates.Resources:
May assist the department chair in deciding the best use of the department's funds and other resources to support the incorporation of technology into the classroom setting. This may include working with student workers and tutors to provide them with guidance in the setup of equipment in the classrooms.Student Success:

Participates in regular assessment activities to ensure students have the opportunity to be successful. Assists the departmental efforts to maintain and grow the Bachelor of Business Administration- Management degree.
Teaching Experience:
Demonstrated experience teaching quantitative methods and business statistics courses, both in lower-division and upper-division levels, and participating in the assessment process for course, program, and institutional learning outcomes.Supervision Experience:
Experience supervising a group of employees.Technology Proficiency:
Experience with instructional technologies, statistical software (e.g., AI tools, Excel, SPSS, R, Python, Tableau, or Power BI), and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, or D2L). Commitment to Student Success- Proven ability to engage diverse student populations and promote student learning and retention through innovative teaching methods and assessment strategies. Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in business from an accredited business college. (This is in addition to the business master's degree listed in the minimum qualifications.)MCCCD Experience:
One year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years. Special Working Conditions All travel-related expenses to campus during the interview and selection process will be the candidate's responsibility. May be required to travel to other MCCCD locations. May be required to work evenings and weekends. May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen. May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs. This position requires a physical presence on campus, with possible partial remote work, depending on business needs, to best serve the students, department, and college. May be required to instruct at multiple sites and/or teach days, evenings, or weekends Driver's License- AZ Class D driver's license is required, minimum requirements : http://maricopa/legal/rmi/vehicle.
