Southern Wesleyan University seeks part-time instructors for its required first-year seminar. This course serves as the cornerstone to a SWU education, introducing students to the foundations of the Christian liberal arts tradition. It provides students with the opportunity to explore education as a path to human flourishing shaped by the communal pursuit of biblical truth, the cultivation of wisdom and virtue, and the development of skills necessary to become lifelong learners. About our ideal candidate Ideal candidates will have: A master's degree or higher (all fields of study are welcome to apply). A mature faith in Jesus Christ. A commitment to the Christian liberal arts tradition and the mission of the university. An ability to integrate Christian faith and learning in the classroom. Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching. A willingness to teach students in a traditional classroom setting characterized by thoughtful inquiry and collaborative learning. Founded in 1906 and located in Central, South Carolina, Southern Wesleyan University spans 350 acres and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. With a student body of approximately 1,000 students, SWU is a diverse community with a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio. The institution offers bachelor's degrees in a wide range of fields, including the sciences, social sciences, healthcare, business, education, religion, and the humanities. SWU also offers master's and doctoral degrees in business and education.
