Key Responsibilities Assist the Head of Maritime Logistics and Supply Chain Management Program in achieving the Academy'sstrategic, academic, research, and industry engagement objectives. Teach postgraduate courses in areas such as Maritime Economics andCommercial, Maritime Safety and Risk Management Systems, Maritime Law, Regulation and Compliance, Shipping Operations and Fleet Management,Shipping Finance and Global Risk Management, Shipping Strategy and Policy, Port or Shipping agency, Port Customs regulations and relatedmaritime shipping disciplines as assigned by the Head, using appropriate teaching methods while satisfying the requirements of theAcademy. Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, workshops, simulations, case studies, and applied learning activities using innovativeand effective pedagogical approaches. Supervise postgraduate dissertations, applied research projects, industry projects, internships,and capstone projects in shipping operations, fleet management, maritime economics, shipping finance, maritime risk, shipping strategy, andmaritime regulation. Contribute to the development of the Academy's research profile through high-quality publications, collaborativeresearch projects, conference participation, and external research funding applications. Participate in all aspects of assessment,including examination setting, moderation, marking, viva examinations, project evaluation, and the development of innovative assessmentmethods that enhance student learning outcomes. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in shipping operations, fleet management,maritime economics and finance, safety and risk management, digital shipping, sustainability, and international maritime regulations tosupport research-informed teaching. Ensure compliance with academic regulations, quality assurance requirements, program specifications,timetables, and the annual academic calendar. Conduct high-quality research in areas such as shipping operations, fleet management,maritime economics, shipping finance, maritime safety and risk, shipping strategy and policy, digital shipping, sustainability, and maritimeregulation, contributing to the Academy's research strategy and international reputation. Publish scholarly work in high-impact journalsand actively pursue research grants, consultancy projects, and industry-funded initiatives. Provide timely, constructive, formative, andcomprehensive feedback to students using appropriate communication channels and learning technologies. Contribute to curriculumdevelopment, course review, program enhancement, accreditation activities, and institutional quality assurance initiatives. Serve asAcademic Advisor and mentor to students, supporting their academic, professional, and personal development. Participate actively indepartmental, college, and institutional committees, meetings, and academic governance activities. Deliver courses and contribute tointerdisciplinary teaching activities across other academic departments when required by the Line Manager. Represent the Academy atconferences, professional events, industry forums, and external stakeholder engagements.
Qualifications E:
PhD inShipping Management, Maritime Management, Maritime Economics, Maritime Operations, Shipping Finance, or a closely related discipline.

Professional maritime or shipping certification or recognized qualification relevant to shipping operations and management.

Shipping Experience E:
Minimum of 10 years post-PhD (including at least 5 years at the rank of Associate Professor orequivalent) for appointment as Professor, or a PhD with a minimum of 5 years at the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent forappointment as Associate Professor, from a recognized university.

A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience at the rank ofAssistant Professor or above, acquired after obtaining the PhD.
