A Chemistry Professor teaches foundational chemistry ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction, lab experience, and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the chemistry curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.
Part-time faculty are pooled positions; appointments are made on an as-needed/rolling basis. Summary of Position Teach courses and labs in Chemistry that are offered by the Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences. Provide feedback to students in a timely manner, communicate with the department chair and execute both lecture and lab sections. Position Information Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule:
Typically, Monday through Friday mostly late afternoon or early evening. Teaching assignments may be remote or at various locations.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least an earned master's degree in chemistry or related discipline in the physical sciences field; must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline.
Physical Requirements:
In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary:
work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
