Faculty Position (Tenured; Director, Bard Center for Electrochemistry) University of Texas at Austin - 4.2 Austin, TX Job Details Tenured 17 hours ago Qualifications Doctor of Philosophy Full Job Description Description The Department of Chemistry at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire a tenured faculty member in experimental electrochemistry, who would also assume the role of Director of the Bard Center for Electrochemistry (Bard CEC), subject to available funding. We are particularly interested in candidates who are internationally recognized academic leaders in electrochemistry research (broadly defined). This position will provide a unique opportunity to lead the future direction and growth of the acclaimed Bard CEC, and to expand its impact across the electrochemical sciences at UT Austin and beyond. This position is associated with a personal chair as part of the Center Directorship. A successful candidate will also be a dynamic department colleague, demonstrated through a sustained record of excellence in teaching, research, mentoring, and service. The Bard Center for Electrochemistry was founded by Professor Allen J. Bard in 2006 with support from the Welch Foundation, to capitalize on a half century of excellence in electrochemistry at the University of Texas at Austin. The CEC fosters collaborative research programs in the electrochemical sciences. Its broad mission is to advance research and solve problems, fundamental or applied, related to ion and electorn transfer at interfaces. The Bard CEC connects fundamental electrochemistry with materials science and engineering, with applications in diverse fields such as, energy, sustainability, health, and emerging technologies. It is comprised of a multi-disciplinary group of more than 250 faculty, staff, and student researchers spanning the chemistry, materials, and engineering aspects of electrochemical science.
