Position Information Working Title Adjunct Faculty Member- College of Natural and Behavioral Science / Biology and Chemistry Appointment Type Adjunct Purpose of Position Christopher Newport University's College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach individual courses, as needed, in the following areas in Spring 2026 and beyond: Biology Principles of Biology I Lab Human Anatomy/Physiology I Lab Topics in Medicine and Health Chemistry Introductory Chemistry I and II Lecture and Lab General Chemistry I and II Lecture and Lab Organic Chemistry I and II Lab Christopher Newport University is committed to excellence in teaching in a student centered, liberal arts and sciences environment. Along with demonstrated ability for excellent teaching, candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of graduate course work in Biology to teach Biology courses or in Chemistry to teach Chemistry courses. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire. Candidates for hire are required to complete a University sponsored background check. Adjunct pay ranges from the rank of Instructor ($1,414) to Professor ($1,626) per Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE). New rates for the
